Material Goods and In-kind Donations:

Material goods and in-kind donations are accepted on an as-needed basis. Aid dispensed to families in need is generally in the form of a voucher that can be exchanged for groceries, clothing and other needed items. The Red Cross has learned that vouchers are dramatically more effective than accepting and processing donated clothing and other goods. Not only are vouchers more successful in meeting each family's particular needs, they enable a family who has lost everything to regain some control over their lives. Vouchers also help area businesses by pumping some money back into the local economy when a major disaster slows trade to a crawl.

Goods or in-kind donations are accepted on an as-needed basis for local office administrative use, i.e. printers. Quilts, diapers and other household items are sometimes supplied to local victims of disasters. Call the Outagamie Chapter if you have an item you would like to donate, 920.733.4481.
