The Red Cross constantly strives to respond to the
preparedness concerns of Americans at home, in school
and in the workplace by providing training and the
lifesaving skills of CPR and first aid. Today's programs
also include teaching both nonprofessionals and
professional rescuers how to use automated external
defibrillators (AEDs) to save victims when their heart
suddenly stops beating normally. The Outagamie Chapter
can also help you purchase an AED for your business,
church, or club.
The American Red Cross-Outagamie Chapter offers
training for all ages. Whether you work with children,
want training for a new or existing job, are a
professional rescuer or simply want to know how to help
someone in an emergency, we can help you build the
skills you need.
The Red Cross can also bring these lifesaving
courses to your business or home for no additional
charge. Call the Chapter for details, 920.733.4481.
While the Outagamie Chapter does not conduct CNA
training, testing for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
is held at the Outagamie Chapter's office. The Regional
Test Site code for the Outagamie Chapter is 50054.
The Outagamie Chapter First Aid Station, staffed by
trained volunteers, is available for local public
events. The first aid station provides care for minor
cuts and scrapes as well as major trauma. Each station
is equipped with an AED for victims of sudden cardiac
arrest. Donations are asked to offset costs of materials
and equipment.
Blended Learning courses combine Internet learning
with live skills training. The lecture and video part of
the course is taken on-line at a time and place
convenient to the participant. The live skills' training
is held in a traditional classroom setting. This method
cuts classroom time in half.
Health and Safety volunteers and staff also
participate with information and demonstrations at
health fairs of all kinds.
