Youth Activities

The youth groups of the American Red Cross provide invaluable services to chapters throughout the country. Additionally, the National Red Cross hosts interactive activities on its national website.

Locally, high school students involved in the Outagamie Chapter meet one to two Mondays each month to support services of the Red Cross. Below is a sampling of some of the activities in which youth participate.

  • Disaster Action Teams (DAT) - Get trained in disaster response.
  • Take classes together on disaster response, first aid and CPR.
  • Disaster Dudes - Help prepare for and present a program (8 hours of training required. Presentations are 45 minutes long and are during school hours.)
  • Set up a disaster plan for your school.
  • Health Fairs - Work at the Red Cross booth.
  • First Aid Stations - Help run first aid stations.
  • Plan Disaster Exercises - Mock Disaster
  • Disaster Hazard Hunts - Look for possible hazards in a disaster in the community
  • Teach or assist with babysitting and first aid classes
  • Participate in parades
  • Cleaning, painting and other indoor Chapter upkeep
  • Landscape and lawn care at the Chapter
  • Help with the Volunteer Banquet
  • Red Cross Day at the Capital
  • Participate in various fund raisers: Human Race, Soup's On, etc.
